Dr Lokesh Kumar is one of the most experienced cosmetic surgeon in Delhi. He has more than 35 years’ experience in the field and during this time he has worked at various institutions in India and abroad.
After his Board certification in Plastic Surgery from India’s premier institution of medical education, PGI Chandigarh, he went to UK for further training to get more experience in the field of Cosmetic Surgery. On his return from abroad he worked with various hospital in Delhi NCR area. He was heading department of Plastic Surgery Indraprastha hospital New Delhi for 18 years.
At present he is Senior Director and Head, Department of Plastic Surgery at BLK-MAX super specialty Hospital Delhi and Max Hospital Gurugram. He is also visiting plastic surgeon at a reputed hospital in UAE.
Because of his exclusive interest in cosmetic surgery he conceptualized Centre for Advanced Plastic Surgery (CAPS) located in South Delhi. He leads a team of board certified plastic surgeons, all experienced in fine techniques in Cosmetic Surgery.
Dr. Lokesh Kumar is best known for his special techniques in rhinoplasty, which is a term used for cosmetic surgery of the nose. He has won several accolades and has shared his expertise in plastic and cosmetic surgery at the top conferences and events in various countries. He is invited at various scientific meetings around the world to share his experience.
Dr. Lokesh Kumar has been office bearers of various scientific organizations. He is Past President of Indian Association of Indian Association of aesthetic Plastic Surgeons and past board member of Association of Plastic Surgeons of India. He represented India at International society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery as National secretary and was also honored with a place amongst Board of Directors of this prestigious organization.
He is serving Vice President (President Elect) of Rhinoplasty Society of India. Dr Kumar is regularly invited by media to share his opinion on various issues concerning Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery. His YouTube channel on public education of various cosmetic surgery procedures is very popular.
Dr Lokesh Kumar says that getting into the patients’ minds is the most important part of a Cosmetic surgery consultation. A cosmetic surgeon should understand the patient’s point of the view about his condition and thoroughly understands what a patient wants rather than imposing your pre formed opinion based on the book knowledge. Surgeons should understand that a patient’s desire may be different then ideals described in the books as they are affected by their ethnicity and individual circumstances and mind makeup. So a customized plan to the patient’s problems rather than chasing the ideal goes a long way in long term satisfaction of patients.
